Dr. Kimball Crofts is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the visionary founder of HART. With a career dedicated to restoring both form and function through surgical expertise, Dr. Crofts believes that medicine, when practiced with purpose, has the power to transcend borders and transform lives. His mission began with a desire to use his skills for greater good, and what started as a single outreach effort has evolved into a global movement of compassion-driven care.

Trained in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, Dr. Crofts brings not only technical mastery but a deep sense of human connection to every mission. “To be given the opportunity to impact the world in ways I never imagined—it is the highest calling of my profession.” He continues to unite medical professionals, students, and volunteers to build sustainable healthcare solutions and promote dignity, access, and hope in underserved regions.

HART | Appiah Consulting International

Dr. Thomas Appiah is a global strategist, educator, and community leader with a career spanning North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He is the Founder and CEO of Appiah Consulting International, a firm specializing in emerging markets across Africa, and serves as Chairman of the African Chamber of Commerce of Utah.

A passionate educator, Dr. Appiah is an Adjunct Professor at UVU and a visiting lecturer at both BYU and the University of Utah. He also consults for the Masters of Business Creation Global Program at the University of Utah.

In 1992, Dr. Appiah helped organize HART’s first humanitarian mission to Ghana, launching decades of impact through surgical outreach, education, and infrastructure development. He remains an active board member of HART and Utah Global Diplomacy.

As the founder of Citizens Taking Responsibility (CTR), he promotes leadership and civic engagement through weekly broadcasts in Ghana. His lifelong mission: to empower communities through education, service, and cross-cultural collaboration.

George Boakye

George Boakye, born on October 6, 1956, in Sankore in Ghana’s Ahafo Region, is a respected leader, educator, and public servant whose career spans education, politics, and humanitarian work.

He holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Sociology and Law, and a Diploma in Education. His professional journey began in academia, where he served as Vice Principal of St. Joseph College of Education and as a Tutor at Wesley College of Education in Kumasi, shaping the next generation of educators.

Mr. Boakye has served the Republic of Ghana in several key leadership roles, including Regional Minister for the Ahafo Region, Member of Parliament for the Asunafo South Constituency, and District Chief Executive for both Asunafo North and Asunafo South District Assemblies.

In addition to his political and educational contributions, Mr. Boakye serves as the Country Representative for HART Africa, a U.S.-based humanitarian organization. Since 2003, he has led numerous free medical outreach programs across the Ahafo Region, bringing essential healthcare to thousands of residents.

Through decades of service, George Boakye has demonstrated unwavering dedication to leadership, education, and the well-being of communities throughout Ghana.

Registered Nurse & HART Volunteer

Dani has been part of HART since 2010, first serving in a logistical role before joining her first mission trip to Ghana in 2011. Inspired by the experience, she pursued nursing and became a registered nurse in 2021. She now works full-time as a circulator at St. Mark’s Hospital and plays a key role on HART’s medical team, supporting surgical care and materials coordination.

In 2023, she toured nursing colleges in Ghana, deepening her passion for empowering local healthcare providers. With 16+ years in healthcare—including OBGYN, oncology, and surgical services—Dani brings skill and compassion to every mission.

A Nevada native, she enjoys hiking, photography, and spending time with her husband and dog when not on the job.
